all walks of life: the disabled,

These people groups constitute

and international development

More
on Humanitarian Care Uganda
Humanitarian Care
Uganda has recognised the heightened
need for health and development
services. This need has set the
foundation for Humanitarian Care
Uganda to be established to provide
humanitarian assistance that is
centered on improving the conditions
of a target group which is poor,
inadequately educated, unemployed
or in non-productive job (low
human and social capital). Indeed
the social welfare set up of the
country as well as the community
infrastructure cannot substitute
or supplement them as they are
facing the same inadequacies as
the individual. The goal of Humanitarian
Care Uganda is to improve the
quality of life for the destitute
disabled and physically handicapped
homeless , orphans, the sick and
Caregivers of the above Categories
of may target groups by providing
them access to health care, livelihood
opportunity and protection, thereby
enabling them to constructively
contribute to their communities.
A group of Ugandans
and their development partners
have come together to actively
find ways to access the social
development needs of the orphans,
the poor, the marginalized people
in the face of the devastating
effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic
and other social stigmatization.
It is against this background
that Humanitarian Care Uganda
was established. Born out of Nikki
Industry -- a business entity
established in 1997, Humanitarian
Care Uganda was founded by concerned
Ugandans and their development
partners in response to the need
to address and redress a situation
overwhelmed by inadequate coping
resources of entire communities.
These communities are the target
group and the focus of the programmes
being developed by Humanitarian
Care Uganda.
